The Pacific Ocean

Sunday May 6

The Las Vegas couple who recommended the casino with the excellent food also warned me that the traffic to Los Angeles would be bumper to bumper after the mass exodus from Vegas. They were right. Apparently, many Angelenos like to gamble on the weekends and head back home on Sunday. It was completely congested for the 150 miles I was on I-15. Most of the time, the speeds were at the posted limit, but occasionally, things would come to a dead stop. This is in the middle of the Mojave desert. Not very pleasant with my riding gear on, but thankfully there were no extended stops.

Mojave Desert
After consulting a map, the route of choice was I-15 to State-138 to freeway 14 to State-126. The transition from desert to coastal lushness occurs right at 126. The scenery becomes spectacular as the road winds through the lush mountains. It won't be long now.

I've made it! Ventura California and I've only lost a pair of gloves. According to my trip-meter, I've logged 3162 miles to get to this point.

Well Done
Tomorrow, I explore the coastal highway.
